Korel Kaplan

Transactions & Transactional Disputes

Korel is the founder of the firm. He deals with corporate matters, transactions and transactional disputes.


His transactional expertise covers M&A, leveraged and management buy-outs, joint ventures and alliances, buy-and-build strategies, auctions, carve-outs, and minority investments including Private Equity and Venture Capital. He has advised both strategic clients and financial sponsors on numerous transactions.


Korel leverages his transactional expertise with his disputes and arbitration know-how by advising clients on post-transactional and shareholder disputes. This includes representing clients in pre-dispute negotiations as well as before state courts and arbitral tribunals. He has particular expertise in ICC and DIS-administered arbitral proceedings.

 

He also advises boardrooms and legal teams on corporate matters and legal challenges including supply chains and cybersecurity. 

 

Korel has studied law at the University of Munich and at the University of Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) where he has received the Licence and the Maîtrise en droit. He is admitted to practice law in Germany.

Florian Schmitt

Information Technology & Commercial

Florian deals with matters relating to information technology and commercial law.

 

Florian is primarily advising on IT and software-related aspects of M&A, PE and VC transactions. He is leveraging his expertise from his work in connection with various software law-related matters, such as software licensing, development, implementation, maintenance, and support contracts, as well as other topics related to e-commerce, cloud computing, big data, and the metaverse.

 

Florian has extensive legal and commercial expertise relevant for software, industrial and automotive companies thanks to his experience in both big law and as General Counsel of an emerging tech company. 

 

Florian is recognized by Best Lawyers in the field of information technology (2022 and 2023). He has studied law at the University of Augsburg and at the George Washington University. He has the academic title Dr. iur and an LL.M. from the University of Augsburg. He is admitted to practice law in Germany.

Friedrich Gilsdorf

Data Protection & Regulatory

Friedrich deals with matters relating to data protection and regulatory law.

 

He has advised on numerous transactions and assessed data protection and other regulatory matters as part of the transaction team. He leverages his expertise in steering GDPR implementation and providing data protection advice in connection with internal investigations, international data transfers, and the assessment of new products and technologies to identify and mitigate data-related risks in transactional matters. 

 

Friedrich's expertise in data protection and related regulatory matters ranges from the software and industrial to the automotive and chemical industries.


Friedrich has studied law at the University of Mainz and at the University of Tor Vergata in Rome. He has the academic title of Dr. iur. He is admitted to practice law in Germany.

Nicole Militzer

Transactions & Commercial

Nicole deals with corporate and commercial matters.


Her corporate expertise covers M&A and Private Equity deals as well as management participation programs and post-transactional integration matters. She also advises clients on commercial contracts and general contract law. 


Nicole has a particular acquantance with the software, medical and industrial sectors thanks to her many years in big law advising Private Equity clients on buy-and-build strategies in these sectors as well as her experience as General Counsel of a Private Equity-backed software company.

 

She studied law in Bayreuth and is admitted to practice law in Germany.
